Same model homes | Different Insulation Values

2 houses built next door to each other may have different insulation values.  The owner of one home has insulated his attic and installed double pane windows.  His house will absorb less heat in the summer because his insulation is better than the neighbor who hasn’t changed his house since 1960. The first man might need a 2 Ton (24,000 Btu) air conditioner and the neighbor might need a 3 Ton (36,000) A/C because one house is absorbing summer heat faster than the other.  The same model house can be right next door to each other but have different air conditioning needs because the insulation values are different.

Because of the different size air conditioning needs of these 2 houses, their duct systems will also be different reflecting the air flow qualities of the equipment installed.
